SHUKURU SHELLS
Shukuru, meaning Gratitude in Kiswahili is our ethos. At shukuru shells our number one rule is that nature comes first, EVERY time.
No sea animal will be harmed or deprived of a home within a shell. Only those shells that are already empty or in pieces due to natural weathering will be used. No holes will be drilled n any shells or corals in order to create a piece of jewelry. All pieces are strung on pure hemp or leather cord. It is our hope that you, the buyer, respect and preserve our planet with gratitude for future generations. Thank you.
The Sea Bean
If a Sea Bean could tell it's story you would hear of its journey from a tropical swamp or forest where it starts its life, to its adventures down streams and rivers..... hundreds of miles through rapids and waterfalls, when finally only the hardiest come to rest on the tropical beaches of the world.
Considered lucky by explorers as far back as Christopher Columbus who wore one around his neck, these mysterious and sought after beans carry the miracle and resilience of life within them.
Your sea bean was found washed up on the white sandy beaches of Kenya. Any weathering is a result of its journey.
Trust the energy of your sea bean to take you on your own journey of discovery.
